Spark grants available for science journalism

Science journalists can submit proposals for grants up to $20,000 for projects that strengthen science journalism.

The World Federation of Science Journalism (WFSJ) launched the Spark Grant Initiative (SGI), which is accepting proposals for projects that enhance the boundaries of science journalism at every level and applies novel approaches, novel tools, knowledge sharing, international cooperation and ideas.

Special consideration will be given to projects that strengthen the cooperation between science journalists’ communities in different countries or designed as demonstration projects that others might emulate.

The results of the chosen projects will be featured at the 2022 World Conference of Science Journalists in Medellín, Colombia.

The deadline for proposal submissions is Oct. 30.
