We want to help support your passion project — a small, random, one-off story or audio experiment that means a lot to you. And one that might not fit anywhere else.
This call is for (ideally) finished pieces, but we’re also open to drafted or in-progress works. We’re looking for pieces that run about 15 minutes or less, but can make exceptions.
If your piece is selected, Transom will pay you an acquisition fee to showcase it: between $2,000-$8,000 per piece. In addition to distribution support, Transom can also provide editorial support.
Submissions can be stories, essays, sound portraits, intimate interviews, found sound, fiction pieces, sound art, multimedia works, whatever — as long as it’s good listening.
We’re hoping to support a number of makers through this project by featuring several shorter works inside an hour-long show to be distributed to public radio stations and via podcast.
The deadline to apply is Friday, February 24, 2023. There is no fee to apply. Submissions should be produced in English
