A free and powerful photo editor, Picasa is a useful free program for photography lovers. It functions in several ways as an image organizer and viewer for managing and editing digital photos. Picasa’s affordable and beginner-friendly image editing tool makes it easy to enhance images, remove red-eye, and adjust contrast and color. Although Picasa is no longer supported, is it still available for Picasa? Although Picasa has been discontinued, it can still be downloaded and used offline. Lifescape created Picasa in 2002. In July 2004, Google bought Picasa and started offering it for free. However, in February 2016, Google announced that it would end support for Picasa Desktop and Web Albums. The complementary Picasa Web Albums service was shut down in May 2016. However, Picasa is still available and still works where it was installed. It is fully compatible with Windows 10, although there will be no new updates. However, the Picasa software no longer works online, so you can’t add or sync albums or individual files, which are also available for Mac. Alternatives to Picasa As an alternative to Picasa, Google recommends using the Google Photos service to create albums, share photos, edit photos and search for photos. There are other alternatives to Picasa. For a simple photo organizer, Fotobounce does a pretty good job, although the interface isn’t very user-friendly. IrfanView offers reliable image viewing and editing (and batch editing) and ACDSee is a program for organizing, viewing and editing images. For those who want more powerful image editing, Adobe Photoshop is one of the most advanced and popular image editing programs in the world. At the same time, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is simpler and easier to use, but it also includes advanced tools. What can I do with Picasa? The user interface tab separates the different projects from the library and import section. Clear, fast and efficient editing Picasa is not a stand-alone editing software, but it offers an interesting set of features that can be used to perform basic editing operations: image by image, side by side or in batches. Improvements include cropping, straightening, automatic adjustment of light, color and contrast, sharpening and red-eye correction. Less experienced users will benefit from the software’s extensive help to better understand its features and how to use them.
