Job Description:

As Kenya correspondent for The Africa Report, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, in-depth political reporting and analysis on Kenyan affairs. We are looking for candidates with a strong track record in journalism and a deep understanding of the political landscape in East Africa. Your reporting will help shape the narrative and provide valuable insights to our readers

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research, interviews, and investigations to produce compelling and informative political stories.
  • Stay updated on political developments, trends, and emerging issues across Kenya and the wider region.
  • Build and maintain a network of reliable sources.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and commentary on political events.
  • Collaborate with our editorial team to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Pitch and develop story ideas that resonate with our audience.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years of professional reporting experience for an established newspaper or media outlet.
  • Proven expertise in political reporting and a deep understanding of Kenyan and East African politics.
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to produce engaging, well-researched content.
  • Strong analytical and investigative skills.
  • A network of contacts in the field of Kenyan politics.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
