Photojournalism grant available [Worldwide]

The Alexia Foundation seeks applicants for its professional and student photography grants, which aim to help photographers produce substantial picture stories that further the foundation’s goals of promoting world peace and cultural understanding.

Photojournalists and students can apply for a grant.

Applicants must submit a concise, focused and meaningful story proposal, demonstrating the ability to visually execute a story with compelling images. Proposals related to the pandemic and the movement against police brutality are encouraged.

The winner of the professional grant will receive US$20,000 for a project or to be used as the recipient deems most appropriate.

Awards for graduate and undergraduate students include tuition for study at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in Syracuse, New York, and a US$1,000 stipend.

The deadline is Oct. 5. There is a US$20 fee for the professional application.
